Ingredients

  • 60g Unsalted Butter
  • 185g Caster Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Water
  • 200g Golden Syrup
  • 200g Salted Peanuts

Method

  1. On a low heat add the butter, water and Caster Sugar in a pan, keep stirring until all the butter has melted.

  2. Now add the Golden Syrup and keep stirring until all the sugar melts.

  3. Continue to stir until the ingredients come to a boil.

  4. You can test if it is ready by dropping a bit into a bowl of ice cold water. If it hardens then you can move onto the next step.

  5. Add your peanuts to the mixture and stir to make sure all are coated in the mixture. Again you should try dropping a bit of the mixture into ice cold water, if it hardens immediately then move onto the next step.

  6. On a baking tray place some baking paper then pour out the mixture onto it and flatten out. Place into the fridge for about 30-40 minutes to allow to cool and harden.

  7. Once hardened take out of the fridge then break into smaller edible chunks.
